Silimalombu lies directly on Lake Toba, and the lake is often the fastest and the most beautiful way to get around. Our boats are available to our guests for transfers, for excursions and for rental.
Our boats
Speedboat, 85 hp
Our fast boat for up to 7 passengers. Perfect when you need to go fast. It has no protection against rain.
Solar boat
A quiet boat that can be closed in case of rain or big waves. Comfortable for up to 5 people inside, and it can carry more. It can also be used as a houseboat for up to 5 people. You can rent it and drive it yourself. Speed 5 km/h, powered by 1,300 Wp of solar cells and 5 kWh of batteries, which allow up to 24 hours of operation.
Small speedboat, 15 hp
Nice to go fast when there are no waves. You get wet if there are big waves or if it rains, so we provide a waterproof sea bag for your belongings. For up to 2 passengers.
Stand-up paddle boards
We have 3 SUP boards.
Traditional canoes
Two fiber canoes in a traditional shape. Rent one to explore the shore, or just play with it at the beach free of charge.
Boat transfers
Use our boats to get to or from Silimalombu, for example to Parapat/Ajibata, Tuktuk, Balige or Bakkara. The price is the same for one way or return. The prices are per boat, not per person. For waiting, we charge Rp 50,000 per hour.

Prices are per boat and trip, in Indonesian rupiah. Pick-up, drop-off or an excursion to the listed places are priced as in the table. Durations are approximate and depend on the weather and waves.
Boat tours
Situmurun Waterfall
A river falls down to the lake on the mainland, 11 km from Silimalombu. You can swim at the foot of the waterfall.
Sunset cruise to Sigapiton
Sigapiton is a small village on the other side of the lake. Until 2013 it had no access by land. It has a natural spring with good drinking water, and it is a nice place to sit in the afternoon or to walk around.
Sigapiton and the Caldera Nomadic Escape
Going in the morning or early afternoon. Hike up to the caldera rim in about 1½ hours, look for the natural springs at Sigapiton, and visit a traditional Batak house, where you can also have lunch.
Excursion to Sibandang Island
Sibandang is an island in the south of the lake. Walk a short loop or hike around the whole island (11 km). The island is full of old mango trees, and it is a relaxing place.
Excursion to Bakkara
A full-day trip. We can make stops in Onan Runggu and on Sibandang Island. In Bakkara we visit the holy Aek Sipangnolu waterfall and have lunch at the floating restaurant of Tipang Mas. We also visit the palace of King Sisingamangaraja XII.
Around Samosir
Can be done in one day or in several days. With the speedboat it is doable in one day (about 6 hours of pure riding). With the solar boat it needs about 35 hours of driving. We can stop anywhere around Samosir, and you pass the new channel in Pangururan.
