Nutrition, Traditional Use and Research
The statements below describe nutrition facts, traditional use and published research. They are not health claims for our products.
- In traditional folk practice in Indonesia and other countries, leaves and other parts of the angsana tree have been used for a number of complaints, for example for skin problems. These are traditional uses only. They have not been confirmed by sufficient scientific evidence, and angsana is not a replacement for medical care.
- Angsana contains flavonoids, tannins and other plant compounds, which show antioxidant activity in laboratory tests. Laboratory and animal studies have examined extracts of the leaves and bark for various properties. These are early findings, and no health effect in people can be concluded from them.
- If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, take medication or have a health condition, please ask your doctor before using angsana leaf tea.
